The client needs someone with experience in a media or broadcast environment—not a traditional enterprise Network Engineer. Candidates must have supported live events.

We are seeking a strong Cisco Network Engineer to support and maintain high-performance IP networks powering live production and broadcast environments.
This role requires deep routing and switching expertise within a real-time, low-latency environment. Experience supporting multicast and broadcast/media networks is strongly preferred. SMPTE-2110 exposure is a plus, but not required.
Key Responsibilities
Design, configure, and troubleshoot Cisco routing and switching infrastructure (Nexus, Catalyst, ASR)
Support BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP, HSRP/VRRP in a production environment
Configure and troubleshoot multicast (IGMP, PIM-SM, SSM) for real-time media transport
Support low-latency IP networks used in live broadcast workflows
Troubleshoot packet loss, jitter, and routing instability during live events
Work closely with broadcast engineering and production teams
Support change management and live cutovers
Required Experience
Overall 13+ years of experience
5+ years of Cisco routing and switching experience
Strong experience with BGP and OSPF
Hands-on experience configuring multicast (IGMP, PIM)
Experience with Cisco Nexus and/or Catalyst platforms
Strong troubleshooting skills in production environments
Comfortable working onsite in Bristol, CT
Preferred (Nice to Have)
Experience in broadcast or media environments
Exposure to SMPTE ST 2110
Experience with spine-leaf architectures
Familiarity with QoS tuning for video traffic
