Design, develop, and maintain software code and frameworks for highly scalable services. Implement highly visible and impactful software features and improve existing ones. Participate in the full software development life cycle, including product design, implementation, and operational support. Develop modular, maintainable front-end and/or back-end software components. Design and build services that can consume, process, and act on millions of user actions within Smartsheet. Work on all phases of quality assurance and defect resolution with a focus on test automation and code coverage. Design and develop software utilizing high-level programming languages and software tools and technologies. Maintain a high level of operational excellence focusing on application and infrastructure scalability, and performance. Position may include additional duties that utilize the required skills. Telecommuting permitted up to 100% from any Smartsheet registered location in the U.S.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, plus 2 years of experience in any computer-related occupation.
Must also have two years of experience in each of the following: designing and developing software utilizing high-level, object-oriented programming languages, including Java; developing and deploying software on multiple OS platforms, and designing and implementing database schema, stored procedures, triggers and views in RDBMS; producing design documents, writing code, building code, writing test cases, and performing unit and integration testing for developing software components; investigating issues related to computer software applications and product issues, analyzing code for origins of bugs, and recommending solutions to cross-functional teams; and performing load testing, end-to-end testing, and unit testing of software applications and web services using APIs and automated test suites, as well as JSON, SOAP, and SQL.
