This position is for an electronics engineering lab technician in the Component & Material Evaluation Laboratory. Our team performs testing and analysis to ensure components and materials meet published electrical, mechanical, and environmental criteria throughout the product life cycle. We perform up front qualifications, screening, counterfeit part evaluations, re-certification of materials, R&D support, validate failures and determine failure modes leading to root cause.
This position is specifically for an individual to be part of our counterfeit parts team. Counterfeiting of electrical components has become a billion-dollar industry and we must ensure counterfeit components do not make their way into our products. This position will involve the use of various instruments and techniques to perform; detailed visual inspection and photo documentation, marking permanency, X-Ray inspection, XRF inspection, FTIR inspection, chemical decapsulation, electrical testing and detailed documentation. Candidate will be trained on the entire process and to operate the unique instrumentation. Responsibilities will also include interpreting Collins Aerospace specifications, vendor data sheets, Mil and Industry standards and summarize the testing or analysis performed in an existing database. Candidate will define test set-ups and build appropriate test fixtures to perform electrical testing. The candidate will use a wide range of standard electronic test equipment; oscilloscopes, DVMs, power supplies, counters, signal generators, network, and spectrum Analyzers etc.
Experience with C++ enabling modification of existing automated test programs or development of new ones would be a bonus. The position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills as frequent interaction with team members, engineers and leadership is needed to convey test results, determine next steps, and recommend solutions.
Basic Qualifications:
This position requires an HS Diploma or AA/AS degree( or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a HS diploma, GED or AA/AS degree, 6 years relevant experience is required.
US Citizenship or Permanent Resident (Green Card) is required
