Our Business Officers come from diverse legal and contracting backgrounds and are highly skilled in commercial and legal cloud services, software licenses, and professional services negotiations. We partner closely with our sales, finance, and commercial operations groups to drive deals to the finish line and remain actively involved in our accounts post-deal closure. Pega is changing the way the world builds software. You are a skilled negotiator and contract drafter with experience closing cloud services, software licenses, and professional service deals. In addition, you have a background in deal structuring, pricing, and contract drafting. You have experience collaborating with sales executives and sales leadership and a background in the legal space. The ideal candidate for this role will have high integrity, motivation, and drive for results without sacrificing customer success. You will report to a Lead Business Officer, who will provide continual coaching and guidance.

What You'll Do at Pega:

The Business Officer role will manage the mission-critical task of pricing, drafting, negotiating, and closing numerous complex cloud services, software licenses, and professional service transactions. These transactions can be multi-million-dollar deals with large industry-leading companies and involve me-sensitive, high-intensity, multi-level, and cross-functional negotiations with skilled client procurement experts or professional negotiators. This position will involve detailed deal structuring and pricing, drafting contracts, negotiating business and contractual terms with customers, and analyzing revenue recognition. This role will interact with senior management to determine strategy, obtain required approvals, drive deals to the signature, and remain active on the account post-closure for customer and internal questions.

Who You Are:

5+ years experience negotiating large, complex transactions
5+ years experience drafting complex contracts
5-8+ years of experience working within a software or technology environment
An understanding of key technologies relevant to Pegasystems

What You've Accomplished:

Prior experience in the negotiation of cloud services and software licenses
Prior experience in technology pricing
U.S. Juris Doctor Degree (or international equivalent), or equivalent work experience in contract negotiation
Understanding of software revenue recognition.
